    Lightbulb Rare bird sighting draws hundreds

    Hundreds of birdwatchers have flocked to a South Tyneside quarry after a bird usually found in the forests of Asia was spotted there.
    Twitchers from all over the country have descended on Trow Quarry in South Shields after the sighting of an eastern crowned warbler.

    It's a lovely wee bird, and I can't help feeling sorry for it.

    SO far away from home and with hundreds of strange people approaching with long lenses and scopes...

    If it doesn't have a companion for support, I guess it might not last too long. Would it get its natural food in the quarry - maybe berries, etc.?

    I should think it will just stay a while and move in they are very tough little birds
