I don't have a Fuji Film FinePix S5700 camera anymore husband has taken it for work, I am in the learning stages. I can't seem to stay away from the computer.

Default NZ Duck not sure what

Hello All I took this picture a few days back and I have been sitting on it wondering what it is.
I thought Pete might know as it could be a scaup. It doesn't have a quack but a whistley sound.
My husband said it could be a lady scaup but he wasn't that sure either. I thought scaups came in one colour for both sexes.

I just felt it may be of interest.

The eye is the wrong colour for a Scaup Sitereh, more likely to be a female wigeon, but as far as I know, only the male makes the whistling call.

Well I am still stumped but I liked both suggestions of what this duck could be.
