Default Never seen so many perched Buzzards

Today I drove from Tilehurst to Grove, near Wantage and along the route I spotted five perched Buzzards, all near the roadside on hedges or small trees, plus I spotted one on the way back, in the same place I'd spotted it on the way out.

This was across the field from one which had taken off as I'd pulled up.

    Well caught Rolf. Nice shots.

I have seen as many a 6 in the sky at one time over at Bowling Green Marshes. No more than two perched on the ground and they were mother and offsping

Yes sorry, I've probably not made my post clear, they weren't all in one place, but in several spots on the journey.

Oh right. I thought you meant they were all in a row like Gulls on a railing

    Still that's quite unusual though

Are you sure that they weren't all strung out at the side of the road to keep an eye on you - after all, you can be a bit of a 'buzzard' at times

    Nice shots, Rolf!

Only time I ever saw more than one Buzzard in the same place (apart from when they've been circling in the thermals above us) was last summer on the New Forest heathland near Beaulieu. There were 6 or 8 (different shades too) in a barren patch about 30 yds to the LHS of the roadside, together with some Carrion Crows. There was a fair-sized carcass near the burned gorse bushes, and it seemed to be the magnet for all the birds.

Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera handy...

That's often the case unfortunately, I do take my camera with me much of the time, but very often by the time I've seen things, I am going past them and there is nowhere to pull over.

I AM NOT AT ALL ENVIOUS! I have never seen a buzzard.

The first one is really a marvellous shot, Rolf, great details.
