This was recorded at Cernay in August
If you know any bird song experts let them hear this one Rolf. I realise you recorded this in France so maybe not quite so exciting over there but this is not a Chiffchaff and I intend (if possible) to find out what it is but at this point not one I recognise other than a 'warbler' species.

Pretty sure it is Pete, there were two warbler species visiting the tree to my knowledge, the Chiffchaff and the Willow Warbler, certainly didn't see any other type.
Done some reading on this Rolf.
Its interesting because you have recorded something I've not heard before and I think it is the call (not song) of a young Chiffchaff which emits what you have recorded here. But its not the 'normal' call I'm aquainted with.

Not a problem at all Pete, it was indeed a young Chiffchaff, not necessarily the one in the picture which is an adult..gif "Smile")
I sometimes forget about uploading the recordings, then have a bit of a job remembering what they were taken from.

The Chiffchaff has two voices Pete
The voice Rolf has uploaded on to this thread is the Chiffchaff' call
The other voice of the Chiffchaff is his song and that is the more common "Chiffchaff, Chiffchaff. Chiffchaff" sound
