Often found patrolling the car parks at Folkstone Eurotunnel Terminal.
Nice capture. Rolf. I think they are cute little birds.
They seem to get every where. Have you noticed, they run across the road dodging the traffic and then fly up to the roof once on the other side
And this is his Berkshire cousin, William, enjoying the wholemeal biscuits on next door's decking. Strangely enough he won't come into our garden as he doesn't appear to like grass, preferring instead the local driveways and patios.
Nice captures. Rolf.
They don't keep still for too long
This is Uilleam McWagtail, the others' Scottish cousin from Oban.
(He tells me that Willie struts around the Eurotunnel exit as he's only there for the beer coming over from 'the other side', whereas William prefers the Pimms and posh nosh of the Berkshire set!)
Ahh, suppose he dines on porridge oats and barley Catherine. Nice to see one of the North of the border family members.
Eh'm, Rolf, he was on the promenade, just opposite the Oban Whisky Distillery! No porridge for him!
OK, I guess that bits of batter and deep fried Mars bars are the order of the day then.
How did you know I had thought of saying that?
(I've never TRIED a deep fried Mars Bar - honest! Can't think of anything less appealing... - Mind you, I'd never drink whisky either!)
Here's another one patrolling a customer's front lawn at Calcot, Reading.
Lol. Nice captures. I think the one on the right has spotted you
Nice pics, Rolf!
The first one is particularly good.
(In the second one, he looks as if he has stood on something nasty and is trying to shake it off his foot!)
Yes, it certainly looks like that, think he got caught in mid step, he was off in the opposite dirction immediately after.
