It is not a Wagtail
It is not a Wagtail
Well, that explains it .... partly!
I think that the sun is making it harder for You to see the "real" bird
So, here it is again without the sun
Well that one's definitely a Fieldfare (Turdus pilaris)...,
- but I still don't think the other one is..
The grey and yellow bird in the pic looks much too long and slim
I am sure it is, it is the light that makes the difference and, perhaps , if You use a loooong tube
Any way
Björktrast Fieldfare Turdus pilaris
Well done, and fast (like Thor) in a lightning!
At last Monday again - and tomorrow is Lucia when we celebrate that the dark age is over for this time - we celebrate the Queen of Light
Definitely a Shrike, guessing at a Great Grey Shrike - Lanius excubitor.
Sure is
Varfågel Great Grey Shrike Lanius excubitor
Good looking bird !
Got this bird for You all !
Looks like a female House Sparrow, Crister! - Passer domesticus
- and since I've found that the Swedish for it is 'gråsparv', I think I just may be right!
Well done, both in finding the bird and testing the translator
Gråsparv House Sparrow Passer domesticus
Not that common anymore, used to call them the flying rats
Time for a Friday bird !
Amazing owl, Great Grey Owl, Strix nebulosa.
Yes, we name it after Lapland here in Sweden
Lappuggla Great Grey Owl Strix nebulosa
Our "real" name for the northern part of Sweden (and Finland) is Lappland - I wonder why You lost the P ????
We Brits don't like too many Ps.
A white Monday - we got snow so this bird will be fine !
No, it is not faster this thread is old
Well, I'll try 'Siberian Chiffchaff - Phylloscopus collybita'
Although it's trying to look like something else there!
Hohoho said the man in red and white
Sibirisk gransångare Siberian chiffchaff Phylloscopus collybita tristis
Good finding !
Here is a nice picture of .......?
Well it looks like a buzzard perhaps a common Buzzard, Buteo Buteo?
Well done !
Ormvråk Common Buzzard Buteo buteo
In Swedish it´s called Snake eater
A very "late" Monday bird
And a very late Monday reply. I'll have a punt at Pied Wheatear, first winter - Oenanthe pleschanka.
Better late than never
Nunnestenskvätta Pied Wheatear Oenanthe pleschanka
Well done as always.
(Strange that sometimes -like now - the smilies won´t work ??) using ie8
I'd never have guessed that one. It's such a beautiful bird!
The feather pattern reminds me of that of a Barn Owl.
Last bird for 2011 ?
well well well ?
Whitethroat? - Sylvia communis
Well, I'm trying hard!
well,well,well
That was better
Törnsångare Common Whitethroat Sylvia communis
Well done !
At last - back to normal days and, of course, a Monday bird !
Looks like a Brambling - Fringilla montifringilla.
Indeed !
Bergfink Brambling Fringilla montifringilla
well done !
Here is a big bird !
Biggest we have here
Golden Eagle - Aquila chrysaetos ?
Although it looks a bit too dark for one...
I AM trying though!
Yes You do and it was a good try !
I just read in todays paper that this bird was found at a lake in Sweden called Tåkern. Not just one but 48!! That is a record and it shows that te bird is getting better and breading good !
It is the biggest bird we have here in Sweden, not compared with the steelbird
While thay counted this bird they also counted ducks and they found +1.200
Well, it doesn't look like a White-tailed Sea Eagle (which is listed as your largest raptor), so I'm going for
Steppe Eagle - Aquila nipalensis - which apparently ventures your way...
Now, I'm trying harder than Rolf, Crister!
ROLF, is it too hard for you too?
I think it's a juvenile of the one you think it doesn't look like Catherine.
OK, Crister. If it's a juvenile White-tailed (Sea) Eagle, can Rolf and I share the win?
