Here is a beautiful picture of a hungry bird (looking for food)
Looks like the Nutcracker again Dig - Nucifraga caryocatactes
Yes it is, I couldn´t resist the picture. It was very nice.
Nötkråka Nucifraga caryocatactes
Here is a new beautiful bird for You to name
Common Rosefinch Carpodacus erythrinus male
There was one in Millcombe Valley, Lundy, Devon this morning.

Well done Pete
Rosenfink Carpodacus erythrinus
Nice bird
Here is a hungry one
Redwing Turdus iliacus
Thousands over here now for the winter with Fieldfare.
Pete.
Again a HIT
Rödvingetrast Turdus iliacus
Anyway, it was a good pic, was it not ?
Certainly was Dig.
got to keep my eyes open for Redwings this year, as i have yet to get a photo of one.
Here is a beautiful and strange looking bird
This one is a male
Mandarin Duck Dig. Aix galericulata
Here's a picture of a Male and Female from the Gallery.
Here is a Scandinavia Big Bird
White fronted Goose-Anser albifrons ?
I reckon it's a Bean Goose - Anser fabalis
Yep. I recon your right Rolf
I recon You are wrong, both of You
The family is(of course) right but as I wrote "a Scandinavia"
From way up north
Taiga bean goose ?
Anser fabalis rossicus ? Tundra Bean Goose
Taiga and Tundra is more like Russia
Scandinavia is more to the west
This bird has it´s name from a place (an island) just outside Norway
Well actually it looks like the Pink Footed goose - Anser brachyrhynchus
All of those Geese can be found in Sweden Dig, in fact probably more so than the UK.
The only one I can find is the Smaland Goose, but can't find the latin name for it and I'm pretty sure it isn't a visitor to the UK, so it is difficult for us to name..
ALL beaten on this one 'digdeep'. My ID would have been Pink-footed Goose. Apparently not this according to you which means I wait with interest to see the answer.
Pete.
A Pink Footed Goose is what I concluded in my last post
It´s from Svalbard
Spetsbergsgås Anser brachyrhynchus
I can understand Your problems but that´s into the game.
Can´t be too easy every time.
Still I think this next one is easier to name
Spetsbergsgås Anser brachyrhynchus is a pink footed goose
http://www.birding.se/foto/spetsbergsgas.htm
I couldn't see it being anything else Beryl so a little confusion somewhere along the line here I think.
As for your next one 'dig deep' I'm definitely passing on it.
Pete.
Is it a Chiffchaff
Like your style Babs, we'll see.
Pete.
I don't think so. It has a brown head
Could be one of several warblers, but not enough detail in the photo.
Is it a Radde's Warbler, Phylloscopus schwarzi ?
That's another one worth a guess Beryl.
Pete.
It's the brown head and the wings appear to be brown also
I think it could be Brown Gerygone Gerygone mouki

This is why I need the full Latin name - just to be sure we are talking about the same bird many are almost the same.
Anyway, here are some more pics from this last bird. There are 2 species that are common, one is Scandinavian and the other from Sibiria.
The answer I need is the Scandinavian but as they are almost the same I can settle for the first 2 Latin names
Here is some more pics, had to shrink them before posting
Is it a leaf warbler Phylloscopus Trchilus
Familyname : Phylloscopus is right
I am told that the yellow band over the eye is special for this brand
Pallas's Leaf Warbler
