Pretty sure it is a Coal Tit, but they changed the name, was Parus ater
I think it's a Coal tit But I don't wish to argue
When did they change the name ?
No idea Beryl, but my old DVD -ROM Guide to British Birds, has Parus, so it has not long been changed to Periparus ater.
You have us all guessing here Chris in saying its not a Coal Tit when in fact it is......I'm confused!
Pete.
I think the name was changed in 2008 from parus ater to Periparus ater
I wasn't aware of any name change for the Coal Tit......even more confused now!
Pete.
Yes The RSPB call it Periparus ater The RSPB: Coal tit
And the BTO call it Parus ater Coal Tit
According to Wikipedia Coal Tit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia it was changed . But I can't understand what I'mreading
Well, it aint easy as I search for the Latin name
If they change it then we all get confused
Here we go : Svartmes Parus ater
so coal was the right way to go
Yep . Coal tit now called Periparus ater
In Sweden it is called Coal Tit - parus ater Svartmes
Let us hope than that this bird still has the same name
Looks a bit like a first winter Moorhen perhaps Gallina chloropus.

Rörhöna Gallinula chloropus, well done
