Try this nice picture
Then it must be a Red one?
Red Kite - Milvus milvus?
Maybe third time lucky............
Looks lie a Marsh Harrier - Circus aeruginosus.
So the color is brown then
Brun kärrhök Western Marsh Harrier Circus aeruginosus
Brun is brown Well done Boss
Yes, here is a Saturday bird for You all
OK, so it's on a REED in that second pic...
I must beat Rolf this time ...................
Reed Bunting - Emberiza schoeniclus
(Do we get a Sunday bird now? )
Hehehe
Self assured You are
Sävsparv Common Reed Bunting Emberiza schoeniclus
Sure, there will be a Sunday bird
TOMORROW
This Sunday Bird is known to stick together with friends Seldome seen alone!
Missed seeing this one....
Going to have a guess now - Twite; Carduelis flavirostris
At least it LOOKS like one!
I am sure it is Catherine as I lost all my birds in the bang.
I will be back next Monday again, must fix a few things first
so You guys stay tuned
I am so sorry that you've lost them, Crister! . I will be patient!
At last a Good Monday
I really don't know this one as all greenish-brown Warblers look the same to me - but that eye flash looks similar to ones in pics of
Cetti's Warblers (Cettia cetti)
which I've seen.
Now, over to Rolf!
Well, it is (for sure) a greenish warbler but not a Cettia
Not really sure on this, could be one of several, perhaps even a Willow Warbler Phylloscopus trochilus?
I´ll give You green light for that one Rolf
Lundsångare Greenish Warbler Phylloscopus trochiloides
Well done
If this bird survive Friday then it will be the last for a while. Off duty until August 19 and I don´t know if my home computer will get on line.
Is rather busy ("free" from work ) while we move house.
So hurry up
Looks like a transitional Ptarmigan, Lagopus muta.
Good luck with the move Chris.
dig deep (20-07-2012)
Hope all goes well with your move as well, Crister!
(Please make the next one easier - like that Ptarmigan - Warblers confuse me!)
dig deep (20-07-2012)
That was fast, as always
Fjällripa Rock Ptarmigan Lagopus muta
Well done.
Let us see if this next bird will be fine for our Mrs C
Might be a Reed Bunting (f) Emberiza schoeniclus
But then, it might not......
(How is it that you manage to find so many pics where the lighting makes ID'ing difficult, Crister?)
I reckon it could be a female Serin, serinus serinus.
Sorry but I can not answer this question before Monday, bare with me
Oooo - that would be interesting to see....
But I don't think that was what you meant, Crister?
(Sorry, forgive me for that one, gentlemen! Couldn't resist it!)
You may well be right with that guess, Rolf. I didn't see the yellowish/green shades which would have been a clue.
It has a stubbier beak and pinker legs than a Siskin too.
Yes Rolf, it is (of course) a
Gulhämpling European Serin Serinus serinus
A typical Summer Bird
So, what is this ??
I reckon that may be a Flycatcher, Spotted Flycatcher - Muscicapa striata.
A look-A-Like perhaps but not in my book
Whitethroat - Sylvia communis ?
Well, that was very close so I think we better give the Gold Medal to Catherine
Ärtsångare Lesser Whitethroat Sylvia curruca
Well done !
You are just too kind, Crister!
I don't know if I could tell the difference between the two anyway - must learn that one!
This Saturday bird is an easy one but a very nice pic makes it worth a post
OK, I'll go for Spotted Eagle - Aquila clanga.
No, it is not
Haven't a clue - and it's too dainty for a Golden Eagle.
Any clue? Please?
Maybe more common here ?
Yes you're right Catherine, new picture makes it a Kite, not a red one, so perhaps a Black Kite Milvus migrans.
OK. We don't have any Black Kites in the wild in Britain.
No Red ones down here yet either, but you see plenty of those, Rolf, so you should know!
It is a strange world we live in
You name it Black and we called it Brown. Anyway it is not the Red one for sure even if they mix sometimes, maybe that´s why we called them brown ??
Brun glada Black Kite Milvus migrans
Nice bird to watch
At last it´s time for a new bird
Yes! One I know!
It's a juvenile Robin - Erithacus rubecula
