What is it with the explosion of clothes donation bags? Nearly every day sees a new one dropped through the letterbox.

I know - even Primark couldn't keep up with the number of bags that get pushed through the door. But it does show how valuable the clothes are to the companies who do it (and who give very little to the charities involved).

its not valuable to the chairitys - its a multi million pound industry - companys collect these for the charitys and i belive they charge the charity so much for sorting and cleaning them - they recycle the crud.. there was a thing on the tv about it - better to wash your donations put into a bag and walk to the shop yourself...

Yes, that's what we do, on the little industrial estate near me, there's a small warehouse where these bags are unloaded and it is a complete mixture of different bags, so the charity you think you are helping may not be who gets the money anyway.
