Default Thought it was a Sparrow at first

I thought this was a Sparrow at first but never quite seen one like this one. It almost looks like a brown Greenfinch if you know what I mean.

It has a distinct pair of stripes accross its head and through it's eyes.

It also has markings on it's wings very different than any other sparrow in the garden, again almost finchlike in pattern. It's the same size as the Greenfinches I get.

This has me wondering if it is a sparrow it isn't like any othe in the garden.

It's a female - that's why you haven't recognised it ... a bit of a "little brown job" as with so many females. I have a shot of one tucked away somewhere that I never used as I didn't spot what it was at the time... now I don't know where the shot is
