I'm off to a 24-hour Mountain Bike race later (only to watch/ support/ take photos - plus my bike was nicked a few weeks back ).
The weather report for Ledbury is rain, rain and more rain so given the lack of time I decided to make one. I found a largish, thick plastic bag in my loft and put gaffer tape on the front and rear of the back (inside and out) roughly in line of the lens and the diopter (which I noticed today that I've lost so had to "borrow" one from an old Minolta SLR).
I then cut a lens sized hole in the front and a diopter size hole in the back. To give some additional protection against rain I then gaffer taped a piece of thin foam, cut to size and gaffered it to the front of the bag, as shown in the photos below.
To fit the bag I remove the diopter from the camera (eye piece surround), insert the camer into it, push the lens into the lens cover, line up the rear hole with the diopter and attach the dipopter over the bag.
Not very elegant but hopefully will allow me to take a few photos when it's raining. Just need the batteries for the flash to finish charging and I'm away (hopefully I can get the tent up before it rains.).
