Captured at Barnes on Tuesday. They have just started to arrive.
Some good'ns there Joe, let's hope we get some locally.
The problem is tthat they are so small and usually the banks are too far away. These shots were cropped although I was using the 300mm with *2 converter. You will be pleased to know that I am using the tripod a lot more now and I've got a Phottix wireless remote which seems to work really well.
Which remote did you buy Joe, the Cleon or the Plato?
Its the Plato. picked it up at Birmingham show cost £32 runs on AAA batteries
For these shots I just pointed the camera at the bank, prefocussed it and then watched thro binos operating the remote at appropriate times
I've got the Plato as well, excellent little remote.
Wonderful, Joe!
I was down at Milford today, but didn't realise they'd arrived, so never checked their normal nest sites. Will do so next time though!
Lovely to see, but it must be gutting that you can't get closer.
The only other solution is to get a really long lens but then I'd need someone to carry it.
Hmm.... sounds like you need a 'work-experience' lad - in the guise of teaching them how to take photos you get someone to carry your equipment
Nice collection Joe
I don't think I have ever seen sand Martins. We do get a lot of House matins though
