    I know that people don't like wasps, but I think that they are beautiful creatures... and I love watching them on my Fennel flower heads - they go so well together

    Yes I agree, striking creatures, similar with Hornets, seem drawn to them.

    What's even better is that they do a lot of different things (chewing wood, eating dead creatures, feeding off flowers), so they are interesting to watch as well - a good-value insect

    They're OK - as long as they stay away from me!

    It's when they build a nest in or near the house that I'm not too keen on them!

    Tell me about it Catherine. I don't use the loft much and a few years after moving in I took a good look inside to find a gigantic nest at the side - at the tallest point a metre!!! That would explain the one summer when I really was inundated with them on that side of the house - although they were annoying, I didn't find them big enough an issue to get anyone in, but then I didn't know how big the nest was. It just shows - what the eye doesn't see....
