I've posted the main shots elsewhere (Black Swan, Wren, White Swan, Moorhen, Great Crested Grebe etc), but here are a few of the less exciting shots that reflect my walk along the river. I saw lots of other birds but failed to get anything worth posting (e.g. Goldfinch, Nuthatch)

Is that a Morel mushroom?

I think you've found a Seven Spot Ladybird, and that's good, as we only seem to see the alien Harlequin ones here!

I love the happy wee dog - and that Comma Butterfly has done well to get through the winter, hasn't it?

It may well be a Morel mushroom, although looking it up, it could be a false Morel (more wrinkled/brain-like than the honeycomb of the true Morel... apparently )

..and yes, definitely a seven-spot ladybird which made me laugh as I had literally just read a post elsewhere where someone was asking if what they had found was a seven-spot


As for the dog - I also got a shot of him doing what little male dogs do best... ;(
