Found this on the leaf of a bullrush in the pond there are about six others but don't know if they are empty cases like this one

Oooooh. It's left it's legs behind as well. What sort of insect is it?
Some sort of dragon fly . I diddn't knowthey shed there skins.

It better had be a dragonfly cause I don't want something like that wondering about on the floor.

Yep it was on the bullrushes, I meant I wouldn't like a creepy crawlie like that walking around on the floor.

Been told it may be a Southern Hawker

Yes I just had a look Chocky, thanks rolf, I also found this when I googled and there is a similar husk also. It's amazing how when they emerge they are so much bigger than the husk itself
