    Default Cinnabar Moth

    This is the Cinnabar Moth. very similar to the 6 spot Burnet.
    They both contain poisonous hydrocyanic acid compounds Which make them inedible to birds
    The first photo shows the full back wing pattern and the second shows mainly the body. The under wing is red.
    Not as sharp as I would like because of the constant moving but you can see them reasonably clearly.

    They have superb colours Chocky, not sure whether I've seen one.

    They are very amall not much bigger than the common blue . They fly by day The cattapillar is bright orange virtically and black striped.
    They are a vivid red and believe me take some chasing. I think some where is a 5 or 6 spot Burnet I have uploaded you can see how similar they sre
