This little feller flew inches from my head and landed on a tree near by I reallised straight away I had to stop gauping and start snapping.
Only just captured him he was so quick, 4 snaps and gone.
Not to well focused unfortunately but visable.

Well done Chocky, they see the slightest movement and they are off. Is this your first ever woody shot.

No. Remember I tripped over a log and fell down a shallow trench in Petts Wood last year chasing a red coloured bird well
I got him then and that was the same so this is the second .
I was a bit more careful this time.

Oh I remember now. Maybe he saw you fall last time and thought he would come back and give you a second chance. Bet this is not the last shot you get of him Chocks

Well Maybe but Petts Wood is in Petts Wood Kent , so he'd be prety worn out chasing me around.

what am I like, I don't know that part of the country btw I waved and said hello to you as we passed the sign for Exmouth last week on the motorway.....Now don't tell me youv'e moved and don't live in exmouth anymore

Ha ha ha . I was staying at my son's house for a Holiday in Bromley.
I can get a train straight to Victoria and right out side the station a bus to Hampstead heath. The woodpecker was in Petts Wood behind Mark's house.
