Taken recently at WWT
It's a pity he was so far away as he is posing perfectly for the shot and the reflection shows his underside feather pattern so well.
I have only seen a Snipe twice - and each time it was when I downloaded pics and saw one amongst other birds in them!
The eternal moan from wildlife photographers " I need a LONGER lens"
And I would need to add, '....and a better camera to attach it to!'
Are they easier to catch at dawn or dusk maybe?
I wouldn't like to say but I dont normally get to WWT before 11.00 am and leave about 5.30 pm. (its about a 2 hour trip for me) Looking at data on the file this was taken at 11.28 am.
It's SUCH a bugger when you have what should be a great shot but it's just too far away, or the sun's in the wrong place or you have the wrong lens
