    No I have never seen them fly in a mating loop but I can't be 100% sure. I didn't see them fly in that loop . They fly when he clutches the neck of the female and can fly around for quite a while then he lands on a convenient plant And then they make the loop. That is what I was watching I had to wait ages to capture it and it's a near perfect Heart shape. I was really pleased.
    Here they have just settled on a plant the next phases were quite fascinating , watching then making the loop. I takes several minutes

    most of my efforts are digi-scoped, using an opticron hr66 scope, pentax optio v15 digital camera and homemade adaptor.+ a panasonic lumix fz28
