Default A wee trip to Devon

    Hi Everyone

Took my daughter back to Exeter Uni and stayed over the night in Paignton. Vivited Exminster Marshes and Prawle Point really good despite the heavy rain.

The little crake was a real bonus as people asked me if I was looking for it – I wasn’t but I was grateful for their directions.

Prawle Point was just amazing. If you haven’t been, go! Birds were everywhere. Ravens, gannets, redstarts, wheatears, stonechats, blackcaps and of course, cirl buntings. These are truly wonderful birds that can allow close up views. Aplogies for the pictures being so drab but it rained all day.

    Nice one.
I live just across the Rive Exe from Paignton you were. Haven't been to Prawle Point though

The Little Crake has been in the headlines on the pager systems a 'few' days now 'Wild Goose' and will doubtless have drawn a fair crowd of birders to this location, thus everyone asking if this was the bird you was looking for.

Prawle Point sounds great for bird variety, a long way from home for me though.

    Pete.

Sounds like a nice place to go to Wildgoose, nice captures of the Cirl Bunting.
