Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff at Hosehill Lake

Quite a few Chiffchaffs around, but strangely enough, the only Willow Warbler I could get a picture of, was in exactly the same tree as last year.

Did you use the length of the wing as one means of ID?

(I find those little Warblers all look so similar.)

No, used the song Catherine, both were singing at the time, I find comparing feather lengths very difficult unless you have to similar photos. I usually use leg colouring as a quick guide, but apparently that isn't at all foolproof.
