This is yet another concerning problem with our trees, I recently drove down a country lane popular for the collection of conkers in my childhood, nicknamed Conker Avenue and every tree was affected with this blight.
I pass a 'tree' ( I call it that - it's actually more like an unruly bush because it keeps getting cut back), and it's looked like this for the last few years. I never knew what it was, but now I do. It IS sad - there seem to be so many big threats to our flora.
Is there any chance the severe winter might have helped to eradicate that disease?
I guess we'll find out soon, but it was really bad last year.
