Default New Gimble head for my tripod

Bought this one off ebay, an Indian supplier, about half the price of one in the UK, but a little heavier. Superbly stable, will take it out next weekend and give it a run.

Well it's certainly rock steady Joe, so should afford shake free photos, but the one con is the weight, we'll see what I feel like carrying an extra kilo or so over my shoulder on longer walks. Have ordered a carbon fibre tripod as well, should arrive today

The CF tripod will make a difference in the weight, that's why I got one.

It arrived this afternoon Joe, very light, will put the gimble on it to try, but may use the gimble on the old tripod and put a fluid video head on the fibre tripod for use also with the scope.

I am using the manfrotto hdv 701 fluid head. it takes the weight of camera and 300mm lens quite comfortly. thats the set up I used for the Kingfisher flight shots.

Hi New here but thought Id throw my 2 pence worth in. If you are looking for a Gimble at a cost that will not break the bank can I suggest LensMaster Gimbal Head £147 + p&p. I have nothing to do with the company other than I purchase one just after christmas. I use a Canon 7D with a 100-400 Canon L lens on it & its stable as a stable thing can be, plus its made in the UK

Sorry Tony, your post was waiting in a queue which I missed.

Looks like a nice product, what's the weight like?
