    This is the female. I didn't sea a male still he is smaller and darker with lesser spotting

    I'm learning something here about butterflies Beryl. I had no idea the Speckled Wood male was smaller, darker, and with less spotting than the female......something new to learn on a daily basis.

    Yes He is more of a chocolate brown where th female is dull and has a few less spots or cream colored daubs.
    I'll see if I have one of each some where and make a montage
