The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

    Default Long-Tailed Tits

Managed to get an hour in the garden this morning and was happy to see the long- tailed tits visit quite often mainly for the fat and the odd sunflower heart

I've already recognised your photography is pretty good to say the least Babs. These L T Tits are the first of yours I've viewed and I have a feeling I'm going to 'upgrade' my praise for your work as I see more of it on my visits to the website. I 'did' photography until I realised my passion for birding had taken over.

I've also just seen you are in Greater Manchester, so andy b is 21 miles from me, you may well only be 50 miles away depending on where in G M. How many more members am I going to discover are from up North?

    Nice images Babs.

    Pete.

Thankyou all for your very kind comments, long-tails were one of the first birds I ever photographed after the dear Robin. They descended upon my garden year before last and I had fat balls hanging from one of the apple trees and they used to let me sit more or less under the tree while I took their photos and I got hooked. They didn't visit as much last year but recently they are appearing every 20 mins or so just three of them.

Yes Peter I am 50 mile from you. Digidark is also from up here to as well as andy not sure about anyone else.

We visited Lancaster believe it or not for the first time last year and what a lovely place it is too.
