Default Ruby-tailed Wasp / Jewel Wasp

Apparently these are one of those that can require close study to know exactly which, so I won't bother with a Latin name. Mind you, it was a lively little thing that kept flying away from the bush to another and then back again so I'm lucky to have caught it.

So, having spotted it earlier in the day whilst IDing other insects, and thinking "How pretty, I'd love to see one!", I was gobsmacked to see one in real life not half an hour after I'd finish the IDing. Of course, I couldn't remember what it was other than a Wasp and had to spend another 50 mins searching for it!! I hate getting old

It's pretty small, but you can't miss it when the sun catches it - a real stunner.
