    Default Bank Vole friend

Today I was cleaning out the fish pond - as I decided it was more in need of attention than the leaves still around the flower beds.

I put a piece of banana - for either Bank Vole, Wood Mouse or Blackbird - in the lily tub near me, and carried on sorting through the gunge.

Suddenly I saw my little friend enjoying the banana. He was only about 6' from me, but didn't seem to mind me working near him at all!

Sometimes it's good to have a friend!.

Nice one Catherine, lovely little creatures. Have never managed to get a photo of one, but have seen many.

Thanks! I'm glad you like him as he's a really lovely wee thing!

A Wood Mouse ran up the branch of the Forsythia behind him as he didn't see I was there either - and the WM looked SO large and grey beside the BV. The BV is such a lovely, chestnut colour!

This was little Vince yesterday. He enjoyed eating the inside of the melon - and the seeds!

He didn't seem to mind me talking to him - just 4 feet away!

Thanks, Louise! Glad you like him!

He's still calling and enjoying pieces of melon or bits of strawberries, but he's much more difficult to see now that plants are growing so quickly!
