Looks like Chicken of the Wood. But not sure

I got out my 'Mushrooms and Fungi' book, Beryl, and thought it looked exactly like one illustrated there and known as Polyporus Squamosa - the Dryad's saddle* or pheasant's back mushroom;

It will seemingly kill the tree - but it is edible for us!

The tree you see is cut just where the fungi is growing so ti is already dead
