    Default Plain-looking songbird

This chappy had a very fluid and melodic song. I wondered if it could be a young Blackcap, but other than that I had no idea. It is very, very plain (the last shot has shadows on the head from the tree)!

You sure it's not a Dunnock Louise, they have a beautiful little song.

Definitely not a Starling, the song was not at all right for that. I did wonder about a Dunnock, but I wonder if it was a bit large for that (can't be sure as that's a long way up ), and it just looked so plain (no patterning). The song is pretty enough, though.

I'd say Dunnock as well, Louise. They are lovely singers - their song is often described as 'Robin-like, but with a thinner tone'.

We enjoy listening to one as it sits high on the trellis here!

I will bow to your greater knowledge, since rolf and Catherine think it's a Dunnock. The song could certainly have fitted, it was lovely.
