    Default Wasp Central - common wasp - Vespula vulgaris

    This is in the middle of the overgrown field I have been frequenting recently. I was lucky to spot it before I walked into it (whilst blindly chasing butterflies). Mind you, I still stood there hovering over it.. but I did it as quickly as I could YOu can't see from this quite how busy it was as they are all so busy, but they it was a very busy 2-way highway.

    Look at how they have chewed away the grass to open up the entrance... much tidier cut than on my grass!
