    The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

    Spotted flying around my garden yesterday, well the weather was quite nice so I think that must have helped.

    You can see the difference in areas when Beryl says 'they are everywhere down here' whilst up north the picture is very different as 2008 will surely go down in the books as a complete disaster for our butterflies......bet you've not seen many this year Babs have you ?

    Excellent capture Babs, great detail.

    @ Pete, although this is the first year I've been really noticing butterflies, there have definitely not been as many around. I have done my little bit for next year and have planted a Buddleia.

    Planting a Buddleia is sure way of attracting the Painted Lady Rolf......and others too, they love it.
