Taking off. The tree was full of goldfinch and Greenfich. But was so much foliage it was dark

Quite an impressive image of the Goldfinch taking off Beryl, even more impressive when expanded.

I have been seeing a 'charm' of Goldfinch's near home amounting to at least 350 birds which represents the largest number I personally ever saw. Today a Merlin flushed just about 70 Goldfinch at the same place presumably a fragment of the 350+.

The second brood of Goldfinch which fledged a short while ago. I have been watching the youngsters . Last year was a good year down here too.
