These beautiful ducks are slightly larger than the mallard with longer necks, pointed wings and tapering tails

They are also on the Amber list

Nice photo Beryl, they could easily be confused with Mallards at a glance, but they are very pretty ducks.

More easily confused with Wigeon . You really have to look for the strips on the sides of the necks This one has his neck retracted but they really do have long necks
