Default Large Skipper Butterfly laying eggs

She 'skipped' about the garden laying single eggs on blades of grass. Apparently the larval stage can last up to 330 days!!!!
I have never seen one of these in the garden before so was gobsmacked that the day after Rolf and I spent hours chasing them around a nature reserve, I spotted one in my back garden

Of course, I'm going to have to try and remember not to weed all of the grass that she laid eggs on (what a nusiance!!).

Cracking shots and ironic with the amount of time we spent on the reserve. Just been checking through my photos and it looks like we saw Small, Large and Essex Skippers.

I think that we may also have spotted a 'Bail-Skipper' as well
