Very interesting, Crister!

Amongst those listed/pictured was a Chrysler limousine which served as the 'posh taxi' at Perth Railway Station when I was about 5 years old. It was not just stylish (compared with the Austin and Standard Vanguard taxis of the post-war era), but ever so comfy inside. Gone was the lumpy ride of the other black cabs, and in its place was a vehicle fit for a queen to ride in! Getting off the train from Glasgow, I remember rushing out to the taxi bay to see if the Chrysler was there, hoping it wasn't away on wedding duty, but there for the four of us to hop into for the drive home. It didn't have quite the sweeping Art Deco wheel-arch designs of the Auburn, but it was 'nearly there', and the black paint and chrome finish always sparkled in the sunshine.

Modern Chryslers may be good enough cars, but they are lack the style and finish of those days of slim ladies, soft-hatted gents and long cigarette holders.

A neighbour three doors away has a red Chevrolet Corvette. At weekends his plumber's van is left on the road, and a rumbling roar from his garage tells us that 'the dragon' has been released for the weekend! He loves his car and looks after it well!
