Default Great Grey Shrike at Farley Hill, near Reading

Was a nice day, so decided to pop out and see a few birds, as it happened a text had come through from Berks Birds with information of a Great Grey Shrike at Farley Hill and I decided to try my luck.

Arrived at the general location of the sighting, as did some others and following the latest location information, it was spotted within a few minutes. Quite an impressive bird, about the size of a small thrush, it was working a long stretch of hedge and small trees, periodically dropping into the field to pick up food.

Glad you've put them in the Gallery!

They certainly deserve to be there.
