The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

What beautiful names they have for these butterflies. Never seen a yellow one before in this country, lovely capture

Mine were caught on Verbena Bonariensis flowers too. I guess they like the flowers. Must get some of these plants for next year!

The second one of mine is the same frame a the top one. I don't know how I turned it yellow. This is why I have replaced it but couldn't take away the top photo because Bab's statement wouldn't make sense.
    Nice shot Catherine
    Thay are beautiful butterflies

I didn't really want to do that, Beryl! It was to show that the same Butterfly was caught by me on the same plant - thus it proved that the plant concerned was a Painted Lady magnet!

[Please tell me if we are not meant to post a similar pic on the same thread as another. I wasn't aware of it if that's the case. I wouldn't have wanted to start a new thread on the same subject...]

You can stick photos where you want (if you'll pardon the expression ), it's just that if your photo doesn't start a post then it might get missed by some people... you are welcome to start a new thread with the same creature as has just been posted - if not, then we'd be rather short of posts
