and, beeing a quiz master, I canīt do more than ask
What are those 2 trees called ?? There are two of them in a mixed way, one redish and one whitish
The red one makes a very good fruit
No idea here I'm afraid Cris, but Catherine is the one with the plant knowledge and I'm sure she'll have an answer.
The red one is known to me Lovely color
Trubbhagtorn
C. monogyna
Donīt know the English name
The white one ? Hmm, have to investigate that
Monogyna is the Hawthorn family.
Your red Hawthorn looks lovely, Crister!
The white one may also be of that family - although the pendulous branching habit is not typical of a Hawthorn. The images are a bit 'fuzzy' on my computer too...
I'm not really a plant expert - as Rolf kindly suggests! (Thanks for that though, Rolf!). However, if you could possibly post a close-up of the foliage of both trees, positive identification would be much easier!
Hawthorns are the perfect tree for birds - dense enough to hide from predators or shelter in the branches, plus providing food (caterpillars and berries) for birds as well as not growing too large to be in even the smallest of gardens. We had a lovely one in Ayr - and I miss it a lot!
Nice view Don't know much about trees
