One of my customers came home to find the cat had fallen into a tray of sump oil or similar, then gone walkabout around the house, leaving lots and lots of oily paw prints and leaving very little carpet untouched. Sorry about the photo quality, taken with the phone.

Well soot can be vacuumed up, they've got a professional carpet cleaner coming in tomorrow.

OMG - that cat had better think about finding a new home - no more 'Whiskas' for this cat, it's going to be Lidl food from now on until the costs are covered

I remember one of my cats stepping in a paint tray in the few seconds I placed it on the floor whilst I did something.. and yes, they CAN cover quite a lot of ground. I was lucky that it was water based paint and most of the flat wasn't carpeted, but I really feel for these poor people.
