    Yes sad to watch . The heron comes to the park pond every morning and loads of ducklings go missing. some to rats and some to crows. The ducks here have taken the duckling much further up the brook this year , they must have got wise to it

    The Grey Heron virtually knows no bounds when it comes to food matter as does the Cormorant. You really have to witness what they can devour to believe it sometimes. I've watched Cormorants eat 'flatties' the size of a dinner plate......seriously.

    I've just looked at the series of images......it is truly unpleasant to say the least.
