    Default milkweed bugs, ibiza

on an evening stroll into the resort of es cana, ibiza, i noticed something fly down onto a rock to the side of me. when i looked i saw about 8 or 9 of these insects, a few of which were mating. i didn't know what they were, so i googled them when i returned home. they feed on the sap of milkweed plants, which apparently is toxic... which in turn makes the bugs toxic. this accounts for their bright warning colours. smart aren't they?

The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

Lovely markings on these little bugs, and nice clear shots well done andy
