Default Rosemary beetle - Chrysolina americana

My son was out front unblocking a drain when he suddenly rushed in and said come and have a look at this creature. So I grab my camera and in socked feet rush out to see this creature run out to the front yard.......................a bunch of Rosemary Leaf Beetles
They are very reflective so a really good pic isn't easy unless in the shade , then you lose the sheen

They are such beautiful creatures.... yet I am so glad that I've not been able to see one yet as I LOVE my big Rosemary bushes

Yes they are pests . I believe they originate from the state along with the Colorado Beetle

I believe that despite the name it comes from the Mediterranean, hence the preference for Rosemary plants, also from that area.
