    Default wren - Troglodytes troglodytes

    After hearing the song (how DO such small birds sing so loudly!!) I had been chasing this little thing , but it was flitting about in the evergreens so I just couldn't get a shot.
    Having failed, and been on my feet for a couple of hours I decided to sit down, and blow me if whilst I sat there he came and landed on a tree not far away. I love the last shot with the eyes half shut as it looks like he is really putting his heart and soul into the song... which they sound like they do

    Louise, love the second shot - classic pose for a Wren!

    The last two are really lovely as well - possibly at its 'front door'?

    You're right, Catherine - classic pose... which was why I included it even though it wasn't quite as sharp as the other shots. As for it being his 'front door' - well, it was darting al over the place and this was just one of a number of shot, so probably not... it was also only about 4 ft off the ground in a quite open place.... but it's nice to think that it might be
