Juvenile Woodpeckers

I say woodpeckers because I have two visiting which is one up on last year. As you can see from my pics they don't always get on. They were quite far up the garden and the weather was dull, hope to get some better pics if the sun comes out later

i'd love to see your ''better'' pictures, babs, if these are poor!!!! these are grrrreat!!!! iv'e been watching a woodpeckers nest this week, as i've been out with my dog. i have stood directly under the tree and waited for the parents to come to and fro. they can see my dog, holly mooching about below them but still come to the nest. the chicks call continuously from inside the nest cavity.

Excellent set of images Babs. You don't need sunlight for good photography......just 'good' light and these cannot be bettered in my opinion..
