He will probably find the eggs on the Isle of Man, off the coast of Ireland, or elsewhere now though. I'm not sure how they could enforce that ban anyway - maybe a passport control at the Scotland England border and all airports?
When in Scotland in September 2010, I took this photo of a 'mystery bird' which was taking off from the water of the Kyles of Bute - between the island of Bute and the southern shores of Argyllshire. It was never ID'd by anyone, despite posting pics on BGB (and perhaps here?), but I am still sure it was a Petrel or Shearwater of some kind. (Shown in 4 sizes, to help understand size - same size, or not much bigger than a Black-headed Gull.
Any ideas now?
