I lean toward Meadow Pipit, but not 100%. Photos taken next to Keyhaven salt lagoon. Probably not all of the same bird.
Excellent shots Rolf Well done
I love the muddy legs! It's easy to be 100% sure, is it? But certainly some lovely shots there.
The muddy legs led me off in the wrong direction, as the Rock and Water Pipits have black legs, which at first I thought this one had.
Here's my version.
It's very unclear (considering how close I was). I don't know if it was the wind, but I've found a lot of my shots form the trip to have a 'soft-focus' feel to them. Very disappointing.
Yep, think the lack of monopod is probably the culprit when using anything over 400mm, coupled with the wind of course.
Lovely photos, Rolf (and Louise!)
Anything I see on the shore is ID'd by me as Rock Pipit, so you are very clever to notice the 'borrowed wellies'!
(Will try to post one of my efforts later - not a Pipit though, but a four-legged crawler!)
