Olympus Evolt E520, and borrowed lenses and flash. Fuji Finepix S7000 for Macro A chair :)

    Default Red Kite surprise.

On Tuesday I was sitting having breakfast in the living room when just 20 feet or so in front of me a Red Kite swooped down to the road. I couldn't see what it was collecting but it sure woke me up

Mind you, earlier this evening I was in the greenhouse when I heard the young blackbird squeaking away (what sort of a girly noise is that for such a big bird!!) and all of a sudden it landed on the greenhouse roof just above my head, 6 inches away. I got a good chance to study the lovely patterns on the feathers... and to see up close what it looked like when it pooped onto the glass

Yep, they are there when you least expect them, have had them swoop down in front of me when I've been driving on several occasions.
