My hubby Greg took this picture yesterday, it was with Mallard Ducklings, but I was wondering why is it all yellow. It was the only one this colour, does anyone know why this could be.

Strange one Babs, almost looks like it is either not a Mallard, or perhaps an albino.

Hubby took the photo at Martin Mere so I suppose it's possible it may have come from another type of duck family and somehow managed to attach itself to the Mallards. I know it's difficult to see the colour of the eye in this shot but Greg said as far as he could tell it didn't have red eyes

Nice capture. Look like a Leucistic to me.
We have 3 Leucistic ducks here I have some lovely photos of them as ducklings last year.
The mother had 7 ducklings 3 were leucistic and the other 4 were normal colour. It'a similar thing but different to Albinism. The pigment is diluted.
Makes them very pretty.
I captured two and the photo was so cute it waspublished in our local paper
