The world's largest gull, thick-set Black-backed Gull, with a powerful beak. Adults are blacker than the smaller lesser black-backed gull. It has a heavy flight and can look quite hunched when perched. It will fight off other gulls and chase them to snatch food.
Length: 24 inches Wingspan: 65 inches; Very large gull.
There was only the one though I think a few youngsters.
Have added a couple more photos for better viewing.
Yo can tell the difference between the Great Black-back Gull and the Lesser Black-back Gull my the colour of their legs. the Great Black-back Gull has grey-ish /pink legs and the Lesser Black-back Gull has orange /yellow legs.
The last photo shows the difference in size compared to a large crow
